Louise Turner Soprano

Louise Turner graduated from Royal Holloway University of London as a Bachelor of Music. Since that time she has been working professionally as a soprano soloist and also as a singing teacher, coach and choral conductor.  She has sung with several opera companies and toured the USA in 68 performances of Carmen. Her operatic roles have included Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Frasquita (Carmen), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Valencienne (Die Lustige Witwe), Maria (West Side Story) and Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro). Louise is also a regular oratorio and concert soloist with various orchestras and choral societies in the UK.  Her concert repertoire has included Bach’s  St Matthew’s Passion, Magnificat, B minor Mass and Christmas Oratorio, Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Gloria, Jenkins’ The Armed Man, Haydn’s The Creation and the Nelson Mass, De Lalande’s De Profundis, Praetorius’ Christmas Mass, Poulenc's Gloria, Ravel’s Sheherazade, Brahms’ Requiem, Strauss Orchestral Songs, Duparc Orchestral Songs, Dove's There was a child and Mahler’s Symphonies 2 and  4.

She has also appeared as the soprano soloist with Serenata, an ensemble consisting of soprano, oboe, harpsichord and ‘cello who performed regularly in recitals for music societies and festivals across the UK and in France and Spain. She has made two recordings with Serenata: Mi palpita il cor and The Tree of Life and has also recorded The Armed Man.
